At just 15 years old, she has already become a household name and an international brand, but the young “Hanna Montana” star is also quietly establishing a nedia empire and flaunting her considerable celebrity weight. With her second album, “Breakout”, reaching the number one spot on the Billboard charts, she follows only Leann Rimes as the second youngest person to hold the distinction of two number one albums at the age of 15.

Cyrus is quickly becoming a true media mogul, with a hit television program on Disney, two number one albums, and sold out concert date around the country, she recently hinted that she may opt out of the fourth year option of her hit TV series to focus more time and energy on other ventures. She also created waves earlier this year by posing nearly nude for Vanity Fair.

Although Cyrus has already topped the charts twice in her short career, she is not the youngest to reach the top spot. That record still belongs to Stevie Wonder, who was only 13 years and three months when he topped the charts in 1963 with “Little Stevie Wonder/The 12 year Old Genius.” 

In his most recent attempt to either gain more exposure or cast a more negative light on his presumed presidential opponent, Sen. John McCain’s campain camp has released a new television as which compares Sen. Barack Obama to celebrities Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. Once again, the ads raise the question of whether Obama has what it takes to be commannder in chief.

Campaign analysts have responded by saying that McCain’s campaign has become more negative lately, in efforts to gain more of the media spotlight, which Obama has seemed to dominate in recent weeks.

The new ads show clips of Obama’s most recent oversea’s trip, and an announcer says, “He’s the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?”  Once again it raises the question of “substance”. 

The Obama camp was quick to respond.   It released a statement which read, “On a day when major news organizations across the country are taking Senator McCain to task for a steady stream of false, negative attacks, his campaign has launched yet another. Or, as some might say, ‘Oops! He did it again.’”

Vanity Fair revealed it’s international best dressed list, and Michelle Obama made the list for the second year in a row. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also repeated as the best dressed couple.

Others on the list include David Beckham, Daniel Craig, Kanye West, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Prince William’s girfriend, Kate Middleton.

Finally, after more than three months of marriage to Beyonce’, rapper/entreprenuer Jay Z was spotted wearing his wedding ring as he left his Tribeca Apertment. The celebrity couple married on April 4th, in a rooftop ceremony described by a friend as ”very special, very private, very intimate”.

But the superstar rapper had yet to be seen wearing his wedding “bling”. Until now, the only real indication that the couple enjoyed anything more than a long dating commitment to each other is a pair of matching tatoos on their ring fingers with the number “IV”. The couple had been dating since 2002.

The couple may not have much time to spend together this summer. The rapper has been inked to headline several European music festivals, including the famed Glastonbury Festival in England, the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, the Hove Festival in Norway, and the O2 Wireless Festival in London.

For the second time in as many months, soulful songstress Amy Winehouse was rushed to the hospital Monday night for what a hospital spokesman said was a reaction to prescribed medication. She was admitted last month after collapsing at her London home. She is expected to bereleased sometime Tuesday.

Her most recent hospital visit comes only days after rumors began circulating that Prince Azim of Brunei has offered Winehouse $2 million to perform for he and his friends in November. The 25 year old prince has been know to bestow lavish fees and gifts on his favorite entertainers.

But, the talented Winehouse has received as much publicity in recent months for her lifestyle and antics as she has for her singing. She has battled a much publicized drug and alcohol addiction, and after a trip to a recovery facility last year, she released what became her biggest hit, “Rehab”.

The troubled singer was photographed in December walking the streets with bare feet, wearing only a bra and jeans. Not long after that, she and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, a grade school drop-out with a long history of drug abuse, were photographed bruised and bleeding after an alledged fight. There were also photos of her on the Internet smoking what appeared to be crack cocaine.

Los Angeles just might be the worst place on the planet for a celebrity to drink and drive. Budding young superstar, Shia LaBeouf, star of the new Indiana Jones installment,  “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, was arrested this morning for driving under the influence after the car he was driving was involved in an accident.

LaBeouf and his passenger, as well as the driver of the other vehicle were all injured when the actor attempted a left hand turn and struck the other vehicle. The SUV that LaBeouf was driving flipped during the collision, and all passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. It is not certain whether he will be issued felony or misdeamenor charges, but a spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said, “It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest.”

This is not Labeouf’s first scrape with the law. He was arrested in November after a drunken outburst at a Walgreens in Chicago. He was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing in that incident.

With such a bright future ahead of him, let’s hope he gets his act together away from the silver screen.

                    “Most Likeable” and “Most Trusted” Celebrity                

A celebrity’s popularity does not guarentee likeability, according to a New York based market research company, and in many cases, it doesn’t translate into success for a celebrity’s film or music project. But several stars have bridged the gap between being popular and likeable by the general public.

Will Smith topped the list of the most likeable celebrities in a survey of more than 4,500 online respondents, followed by Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Halle Beyy, and George Clooney. While stars such as Britney Spears, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie are considered more recognizable, neither of them made the top five in likeability. The study, conducted by NDP Group, Inc., found that Smith is either “strongly” or “somewhat” liked by more that 83 percent of respondents.

The survey also which celebrities were most “trusted”, and interior designer Nate Berkus, best known from Oprah Winfrey’s show,  and Will Smith topped that chart. Chef Mario Batali, golfer Tiger Woods and chef Paula Deen also made the list.

Trust and likeability are important factors to marketers says Marshall Cohen, an analyst with the NDP Group. “It’s not about fashion and it’s not about beauty that’s necessarily connecting the celebrity and the product anymore,” he said.”It’s really more about getting exposure for reasons that go beyond just the glamour shots.”

There is a new generation of young celebs who could learn from their example.

                    Barkley’s living the fat life, but he’s spreading it around           

As celebrity bloggers, we generally like to highlight the most sensational and newsworthy entertainment happenings to both grab the attention of readers, and hopefully keep them coming bak for more. But every now and then, a story comes along that may not grab the headlines, but needs to to be told. And sometimes, they may put a celebrity in a completely different light.

 This morning, one such story came to my attention.

Charles Barkley is best known for his basketball prowess, speaking his mind on just about anything, his sub-par golf game, and his well documented fondness for gambling. But few people know of his philanthropic spirit, and the things he has done to change the lives of those less fortunate.

One such event occured while he was eating lunch yesterday. Impressed with the attitude and work ethic of a busboy in the Philadelphia restaurant where he was dining, Barkley offered to pay the young man’s college tuition.

The Philadelphis Daily News reported, “Sir Charles told [Christian] Abate he would like to help him with his tuition, and Abate wasn’t sure how to respond. Barkley didn’t give him much time, telling Abate that he had the length of Barkley’s meal to decide. Abate wisely accepted.

“He’s a nice kid,” Barkley said of Abate on Friday. “He was working with kids, I loved that he wanted to be a teacher, and I wanted to help him.”

This is not the first such impromptu donation Sir Charles has made to the underprivledged. He has been known to have purchased homes for single mothers, and has given more than $3 million to schools in his home state of Alabama.

You may not like his golf swing, but you’ve gotta love his heart.

Former “it” girl and “Baywatch” actress Pamela Anderson is once again living with ex-husband Tommy Lee. But according Anderson, don’t make too much of it. Anderson told the Associated Press that she is living with Lee while her Malibu home is under construction.

Anderson says “We’re great friends. We just live together, and we’re ex-husband and wife. It’s kind of silly,” she added, “I don’t know where that’s gonna go.”

 The 41 year old bombshell has been in a number of high profile relationships, which include marriages to Kid Rock and Rick Salomon. She and Lee, the former drummer for Motley Crue, ended their relationship in 1998.  

The actress has been involved with a number of obscure TV and movie projects, but nothing has compared to the success the found on the beach drama, “Baywatch”. Her latest project is the new E! reality show, “Pam: Girl on the Loose”, which premieres August 3rd.

She insists that she’s not about how she’ll be portrayed on the show. “I’m not not worried about cleaning up my image,” she says. “I just know I’m an exhibitionist. Some people are afraid to be found. I’m afraid not to be found. It’s one of those weird opportunities. And it was an incredible deal.”

Obviously, the viewing public doesn’t want her to go away either.

Actress Sienna Miller has filed a lawsuit to bar continued publication of stories and photos taken while she vacationed with new boyfriend Balthazar Getty. Miller is suing British tabloids News of the World and The Sun for violation of privacy, as photos showing a topless miller circulated the Internet while vacationing with Getty just days before he announced his seperation from his wife, Rosetta.

Getty, who stars in the ABC drama “Brothers and Sisters”, is also an heir to the Getty oil fortune. Though he only formly announced his seperation on Tuesday, he insists that the marriage has been over for some time. Reps for Miller agreed, telling US magazine that “Sienna is not a homewrecker”.

But insiders insist that the publication of the photos and the story of his affair with Miller has sped up legal proceedings. Some actually frown on Miller’s judgement for allowing herself to photographed in such a compromising situation before Getty’s marriage actually ended.
