             Shia LaBeouf and Harrison ford in a scene from “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” 

Los Angeles just might be the worst place on the planet for a celebrity to drink and drive. Budding young superstar, Shia LaBeouf, star of the new Indiana Jones installment,  “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, was arrested this morning for driving under the influence after the car he was driving was involved in an accident.

LaBeouf and his passenger, as well as the driver of the other vehicle were all injured when the actor attempted a left hand turn and struck the other vehicle. The SUV that LaBeouf was driving flipped during the collision, and all passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. It is not certain whether he will be issued felony or misdeamenor charges, but a spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said, “It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest.”

This is not Labeouf’s first scrape with the law. He was arrested in November after a drunken outburst at a Walgreens in Chicago. He was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing in that incident.

With such a bright future ahead of him, let’s hope he gets his act together away from the silver screen.
