John Edwards Admits To Adultry
There isn’t much that really surprises me anymore, but I must admit that two stories featuring celebrities really caught me off guard today.
This has been a big year for politicians admitting to extra-maritial affairs, and this time it involves one of the biggest names in the political arena. Former presidential hopeful and charismatic ex-Sen. John Edwards confessed in an interview on ”Nightline” that he did have an adulturous affair with with filmmaker Rielle Hunter. He has been denying the affair since it was first reported by the National Enquirer last fall, and continues to insist that Hunter’s recently born daughter is not his.
Edwards, who bowed out of the presidential race midway through the democratic primaries, has been married to his wife Elizabeth since 1977. The couple also have three children together.
Hunter is best know for filming Edwards as he began his presidential bid in 2006. She is also said to have accompanied him on a trip to Africa. She was known to have been a bit of a party girl in the 70’s, but has mellowed her wild girl streak in recent years. She has repeatedly denied rumors of an affair with Edwards, and has insisted that the baby is not his.
