Clay Aiken wowed the world with his voice on “American Idol”, and surprised millions just a few weeks ago when he became a father. Now he says that he wants everyone to know the truth about his sexuality. And just in case the birth of his son, Parker Foster Aiken, might have diminished rumors about his sexual preferrence, the crooner casts all doubts aside in the upcoming issue of People by revealing the truth… Clay Aiken is gay.

The new issue of People features a photo of the singer with his son, and though questions have surfaced since his days on the reality show, Aiken has never before discussed his sexualuality in public. But he confided, “I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things”.

Thought Aiken didn’t win as the “American Idol”, his career after Reality TV has really taken off. He is still one of the most popular of the American Idol alumni, and his boy-next-door persona has endeared him to millions of fans.

Aiken is currently starring in “Spamalot” on Broadway.
