Lisa Marie Presley Gives Birth To Twins
Lisa Marie Presley gave birth to twin daughters Tuesday, continuing what appears to be the latest trend with Hollywood celebrities delivering babies.
Lisa Marie delivered by Cesarean section, and both mother and newborns are doing well according to a publicist for the singer and daughter of Elvis Presley . A statement was released stating “babies and mom are happy and healthy and resting at home”, though the location of where Presley gave birth has not been identified.
These are the first children for the 40 year old Presley with her husband, music producer Michael Lockwood, who she wed in 2006. She also has a 19 year old daughter, Riley, and a 15 year old son, Benjamin, from a previous marriage.
Celebrities seem to be giving birth to twins at a rate higher than the rest of the general public lately. The entire planet stood still when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed twins this summer. But Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony , Nancy Grace , “Desperate Housewives” star Marcia Cross , “Grey’s Anatomy”hunk Patrick Dempsey and his wife have also welcomed a double bundle.
