Oprah Winfrey’s Paradise On Fire
The Montecito community in California is home to some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood. Oprah Winfrey, Rob Lowe, and “Back To The Future” star Christopher Lloyd are just a few of the homeowners evacuated as the area is being consummed by wildfires.
Many in that exclusive community of multi-million dollar homes stood helplessly as the fast moving fires and smoke engulfed huge chenks of their neighborhood.
“It started last night and so far it’s been reported that as many as 100 homes have been destroyed”, said Winfrey. And the Los Angeles Times is reporting that a large part of Lloyd’s eight acre estate has been destroyed. The actor is in Vancouver filming, but a caretaker had to evacuate the property.
Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Bridges, and Michael Douglas also own property in the area. And California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver recently pruchased 25 acres there.
Firefighters have been working around the clock to extinguish the flames.
