Ashley Dupre gained her 15 minutes in the celebrity world due to her now infamous involvement with former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer .

Now, in an upcoming interview on “20/20″ with Diane Sawyer , Dupre will discuss her meteoric assent in the world of high priced prostitution, and her even more rapid assent into the public eye.

The focus of the Diane Sawyer interview will on prostitution, and in particular, high priced prostitution. Dupre isn’t the first high priced call girl to gain celebrity status, nor is she the firt to create rumors in politics. But she has become the face of the entire industry as of late.

The Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal dominated headlines earlier this year, and shattered the political ambitions of one of the rising stars of the Democratic party. Dupre was identified as the $2000 a night call girl favored by the ex-governor, after his bank reported suspicious banking activities to federal investigators.

Spitzer’s money had been traced to offshore accounts belonging to Emporer’s Club VIP, a prostitution ring fronting as an escort service in New York, and eventually traced to “Client 9″, who was identified as Spitzer.

Dupree was granted immunity to testify against the prostitution ring, and immediately, her celebrity status began to rise. She recorded a hip hop single which shot to the top in Internet sales, was offered $1 million to pose nude for Hustler , and was also propositioned by Penthouse .

But her celebrity seems to have faded almost as quickly as it came. Though she has signed with a music manager, there have been no reports of a record deal. It seems music execs want to see if her single sold because of her talent, or if she is just another passing novelty in the mold of Monica Lewinsky ,  Lorena Bobbitt or Amy Fisher.

Either way, it’s probably a safe bet that the Ashley Dupre interview will not be watched in the Eliot Spitzer household.
