Britney’s First Week Album Sales Top 505,000
It seems that Britney Spears has backed up all of the pre-release hype for her new album. Album sales for “Circus”, the latest release by Spears topped 505,000 in it’s first week of release, making it one of the hottest debut releases of 2008. The album is also the number 1 on the Billboard charts.
Reaching the top of the album charts just about completes the full circle comeback for Spears. After a year in which anything that could go wrong seems to have gone wrong in 2007, the only thing that could make her resurgence any more satisfying would be sold-out concert receipts for her upcoming spring tour. That, and possibly regaining custody of her children.
But the pop diva has done just about everything right since turning over her affairs to her father, Jamie. She has cleaned up her personal life, settled her legal problems, and regained her status as a number 1 selling artist. Her achievement this week also marked the first time that Soundscan has recorded sales by an artist with four album debuts topping more than a half million first week sales each.

I’m with you on that Diva…
I’m also not a huge fan, but you can’t help getting swept up in the drama that has become “The Days and Nights of Britney Spears”.
I just hate to see talent wasted. There are too many talented people who would love to achieve half of what she has.
I’m a bit mixed on Britney -
I wish she would work on her parenting as hard as she does her music …
Her adorable boys deserve her best efforts as well as her fans!
