‘Marley and Me’ Wins At The Box Office For Second Week

The Jennifer Anniston comedy ‘Marley and Me’ wins at the box office for the second week in a row, once again outperforming the highly acclaimed ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, starring her former husband, Brad Pitt.
The tear-jerking story about a couple and their lovable canine finished the weekend earning $24.1 million, making it the first Christmas release to top the $100 million dollar mark. The film also stars Owen Wilson.
The Adam Sandler movie, ‘Bedtime Stories’ finished number two, with $20.3 million, and Pitt’s ‘Benjamin Button’ was the number 3 movie at $18.4 million.
‘Marley and Me’ has earned a total of $106.5 million since first released on Christmas Day, and according to studio executives, shows no signs of slowing down. The Tom Cruise World War II bio-epic, ‘Valkyrie’, was this weeks fourth place finisher at $14 million, followed by Jim Carrey’s ‘Yes Man’ at number five.
