Metallica earned it’s permanent place in rock history Saturday as the heavy metal band joined a diverse list of music makers inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band was joined by rap pioneers Run-DMC, soul singer Bobby Womack, and the harmonizing R & B group, Little Anthony and the Imperials.

Guitarist Jeff Beck and rockabilly star Wanda Jackson were also inducted, keyboardist Spooner Oldham, and DJ Fontana and Bill Black, both former members of Elvis Presley’s backup band rounded out the list of this year’s inductees.
